God of love, not God of wrath

Today my daughter Teuntje (9) came home crying.

'Hey Teuntje, why are you crying?'
'Because Lisa said daddy is going to go to hell, because he doesn't believe in God!' and she sobbed her little heart out.

I felt so sorry for her! That is such a cruel thing to say, and I feel it's decidedly unchristian to say things like that.

But I must admit, I wasn't all that surprised, because I know this girl's mom, and she too has told me I'm going to hell. Even though I dó believe in God. But according to her, not in the right way. She was quite nice about it, really. But I must say: she didn't seem very sorry for me! It would have been nice if she'd uttered some regrets about my hellish trip.

Now, I can take it, but obviously a little child can't. So I tried my best to comfort Teuntje by telling her that of course, her daddy wouldn't go to hell.

Because I teach my children about a God of love, not a god of wrath.

Bless her little heart! What a horrible thing to teach your child! Give her a hug from me!

No one is righteous enough to tell anyone that they will go to hell. Our God is a God Of Love and Mercy. God said He loves everyone, and that includes non-christians. It's pathetic how some christians look highly upon themselves and curse those opposite of them to hell.

God also said, "Love one another just as I haved love u." We are here to spread God's love to others, and not to judge anyone. :)

*HUGZ* to yr daugther! :)
